Good company swag

Do your company have good swag to give away to customers/prospects?

Is anything even worthwhile, or is it all just junk?

Pretty much everything we have is cheap giveaways, but I'm wondering if investing in something worthwhile to give out like a Yeti or a nice hat or Nike pullover is worth it?

Thoughts/ideas/suggestions?

I give good swag for good existing customers. You gotta make it nice though. No coffee mugs or USB sticks.

I've given out all kinds of stuff, but I make sure to personalize them with my logo or their name so they remember who the fuck brought the ruckus:

Yeti coolers, pullovers, bottles of booze, portable speakers, Tumi backpacks, leather office shit, etc

Yes. Buying shit that will be thrown away is a waste of your time & money - and makes you look cheap to the prospect / customer.ย

Go big or go home.. totally agree. Better to be selective about sending out nice expensive stuff than to blast everyone with cheapies.ย

My company has legitimately dope swag. They even opened up a swag store that sells shit at cost and is great quality

They just decided to make everything with super quality in mind and sell it at cost. Mostly clothes but thereโ€™s cbd lip balm and comically oversized water bottle etc. Definitely not too serious

Quality seems to be a consistent across the "good swag" comments here

I guess a good question would be if the value of the swag has any real impact on sales. At least when giving out to prospects.ย

Regarding swag from my company to it's employees. It's been a range. Some stuff like the clothing options were really high quality and I like wearing them. Some stuff kinda had a junk feel that would just be desk clutter.

Yeah the first part is what I want to figure out. Like would good swag make any impact on the sales process from start to close (and beyond for customer retention and attention after they buy).ย

Something that keeps it hot/cold and has a good lid that stays on lol. Iโ€™ve seen a lot of cheap ones and itโ€™s obvious to EVERYONE that it probably shouldnโ€™t even go in a microwave so it ends up being a pen holder.

Swag has become a huge part of tech sales! Every company has branded Patagonia jackets and backpacks.ย

I prefer some unique swag items but there is no doubt swag moves the needle.ย

The goal should always to make swag that ppl will wear then get it in the hands of all your top clients. The best is getting a picture of them wearing it for your social posts.ย

The more relevant the swag, the better. Masks have been a solid swag recently. Sweatpants, given work from home.ย

Company branded sweatpants? That's a new one for me, but why not?ย

A good hat is always appreciated, at least by my wife. One of my employers gave out binoculars once since we sold optics. The same one gave out coins for the corp's 25 year anniversary which is kind of a neat memento to keep since we sold to the military and challenge/memento coins are a big cultural thing.

The current company used to give out single-pouch bags, I see lots of people still using them at trade shows and it's a good conversation starter.

I think there should be two types of SWAG - stuff that is useful and will remind the prospect of your company/capabilities, and stuff that is just cool marketing.

Good point about the different types of SWAG.. where's marketing, they need to hear this!

They're probably at a mid-day yoga class. Gotta get that in before sending unsolicited emails on your behalf later.

Company branded swag for prospects: post it notes, pens, koozies, and a tumbler do the trick 80% of the timeย
Existing companies as an annual gift: a Yeti always is appreciated and Nike polos/pullovers always go over well and get worn.

If its just trade show stuff its not worth anything good, as its likely left in a hotel room.ย

We do give some decent stuff like Yeti's, half zip of designer brands, and some golf kits with. I've visited the customer that I've given some of the stuff to years later and will see it on their desk or rolling around the office, so I'd say its worth it.ย

did you have any limits on giving out something like that, or could you give it to any prospects you wanted to? I've seen some companies require a meeting or demo booked to give out nicer items like that

we did send them to our existing best customers as a thank you, no need to do something to get the gift.ย  It caused conversations with clients that some times are just tough to get on the phone etc.ย  Thanks with no strings attached gets good responses

No, no good branded swag for customers. This would be a marketing function - what do you expect? Everytime I've given branded swag to customers; I've ordered directly myself from merchology.com or similar. Then expense it.

I have a Northface hard shell jacket from my current company, itโ€™s legit. Iโ€™ve gotten some other good things over the years. Nike hoodies. Timbuktu backpack. Also a
lot of junk. I donโ€™t need 13,000 cozies with the company name on them.
