Google spam rules

Just reading through all the news about Google potentially blocking domains who send 5k+ emails per day starting in February.

As someone who works at a large enterprise organization, is anyone else a bit worried about the repercussions of this?

I think there should absolutely be more controls in place around spam but as someone who typically sends about 100 emails per day in an org with hundreds of sellers this seems like it could become a huge problem. Or maybe I'm just being a baby idk

Google will create their own SalesLoft that is made for enterprises, problem solved

Honestly that would be great- let the spammers die off and real companies to continue to do business as was the goal all along

It will be interesting to see what happens, can see it actually helping the top reps

Oh it’s definitely going to be problematic for enterprise outbound prospecting. No question.
They’re saying that Google has basically just declared war against SalesLoft and Outreach, etc.

There will have to be a workaround for this and it says "potentially" meaning they will have to review it. So not anything I am worried about.

That's what I'm thinking, as an organization themselves that has a massive selling force they have to know this is just silly for large orgs

I'm sure they'll get plenty of feedback on this announcement. Expect retraction sometime before the deadline.

I think it will no doubt have repercussions, don't think it will be a doomsday event like some are thinking

It's for the whole org. And think about an org with 4K reps - that number is extremely arbitrary and far too restrictive.

Exactly, I see no way this can stand that number is tiny for most orgs

But how many orgs with 4k reps are sending emails to Gmail? They would be sending to enterprise corporate emails and be fine, thats all im saying.

I'm was more thinking about orgs whose email provider is Gmail- the have not been clear about that so yes hopefully this applies only to the true scammers hitting personal emails not corporate domains

I don’t think it will be a blocking, just a pay to play scenario.

All good with that too honestly, just as long as my org pays 😂

Organizations will figure a way out. Most companies already send their newsletters from a different domain or through the ESP's domain. And it's not uncommon in many organizations to have cold outreaches sent through multiple domains.

So, if you work for example.com, your organization could buy example.io, getexample.com, goexample.com, etc. and distribute your outreach through these different domains to stay under the 5K limit.

I think it just creates more opportunities, bc lazy sellers aren't gonna be flooding prospects inboxes anymore. Correct me if i'm wrong, but you can still send out as many personalized emails as possible?

They have been vague about it is most of the articles I have read are targeting "bulk senders" so my hope is all this AI and technology they brag about catches the emails from lazy sellers and let's the real sellers get through.

see if theyre blocking domains that are sending out 50+ emails a day, thats gonna cause a headache for everyone not just salespeople. so I feel like its only bulk sequenced messages.

I believe that your seniors will definitely align with google prior to FEB to avoid being hit as they should already know it by now same as you did..as sending as many emails as you want relevant to your biz doesn't necessarily mean that you're a spammer!

"5k+ emails per day starting in February."

Who the fuq send so many mails?

Founder
It's for the entire org. So if you have 5000 people in your company each sending 1 email each you are going to hit the limit.

Still seems quite insane. But yeah, there's some companys that large for sure. We are around 65 here at my place. So each person can make around 77 mails before hitting the limit.

But yea, you're absolutely right.
