GTM Commision Only

Hi all,

I'm new to the sales side, so bear with me.

I've recently built a B2B orientated SaaS, but I am struggling with the sales side. I admit that I am not a natural sales person. Happy to do sales support with webinar etc, but not an opener type person.

I am looking to partner with someone that can help with Sales, but as just bootstrapped the company, I have no $ to guarantee the salary.

Are there any option to hire someone on commission only? The deal size would be anywhere from £5000-£25000. (non-enterprise customers)

I have a Bid Response Management System. So the customer list would be anyone looking to bid for contracts, private or public sector.

Any advice would be welcomed.

Thanks.

I think the answer is yes, but it tends to be higher $ in commission. You also have a risk of lower quality people unless you guarantee some sort of exclusivity over a period of time. The other option is to go to a reseller and have them do it.

The question is why are sales struggling? Are you priced higher than competition? Do your prospects easily understand the value of what you have built? Where are you seeing a dropoff in customer engagement? What does inbound lead flow look like vs outbound(if it exists)?

You would have to do a high % of commission to get anyone worthwhile, but I believe you could post a job on Bravado Jobs

What would be the standard % that a salesperson gets for B2B?

Thanks for the throughs and questions.

I got one company as a customer.

In terms of where we are vs competitors, I think we offer 70-90% of the product, in some places we offer more than the competitors, and on prices we are 20-50% cheaper.

I've done a bit (300-400) Linkedin messages and got some replies 10ish. Initially, I don't think I targeted the correct buyer persona.

For sure, the commission would need to be worth it for the salesperson.

Hey ! Firstly welcome to this side of sales. :)
It’s good that you do have a customer. There would be folks who are looking to upskill and put some achievements down on the resume - you can take help at this point.

What I am understanding is - you want someone commission basis, you can find them on LinkedIn + Bravado jobs easily.

I would have loved to be a part of this - but I’m just waiting for my turn to get laid off and then I will ping you. 🥲

Advise you definitely to increase the commission.

Lots of changes to sales team (massive growth, smaller territory, increase quotas). What do I do?
