Has anyone been through the GAP Selling Online Training?

Hey WR,

A savage on here recommended I research GAP selling and I am hooked! It makes a lot of sense to me, I'm reading the book and have blasted through the podcast.

My question is, has anyone here been through the online training? If so, what was your experience? Would you recommend?

For those of you that have implemented GAP selling into your sales process, how long does it take (number of calls) before you begin to get a handle on it? From what I can see it's like you have to re-train your brain to allow you to become problem centric and to ask the right questions in the right way!

This one is probably a better thread. Imagine if people directing you to use the search bar knew how to use it themselves. What a crazy concept. What are ya gonna do though, some people are just rude and stuck in their own way. Enjoy!

Are you having to pay for the training or is your company paying for you?

I am considering paying for it myself. I just got my first tech sales role so I want to be sure that I give myself the best chance of success!

i have not gone through the training just read the book a few times.

before I pay for anything, i would try to take each aspect of gap selling and try to implement it into your process. then figure out what exactly your struggling with.

then if you still cant find the answers, then try to pay for training.

The book is pretty good. I haven't been through the training myself though

I did the training a year ago with my L&D budget (so the company paid).

i think it's pretty good, interactive easy to pace a bit at a time

Good point! How many times have we had reps ask for recommendations for their learning budget - this is a solid answer.

Thanks @PhlipOut how have you found implementing it since the training? Is it a long process before you feel confident with using it?

How different is it compared to just reading the book and doing what you can to implement the viable parts?

GAP selling is great (I think we all agree on that) but you need to apply the parts which work for you and your situation and then continue to gather info on other sales methodologies and implement what works from those as well.

It was aweful
maybe it was my instructor but its not different than the basics of find the clients needs and "fill the gap"

Interesting, thank you for sharing that! Did you have the in-person training or was it the online course?!
