SKO on a Sunday??
Just heard my former company is doing their kickoff the week after Super Bowl. BUT are starting on Monday so everyone has to fly in on Sunday. Half the people are bitch about missing the game, many of the rest are complaining about it taking place over Valentines Day.
I know you remember when the sales department generally got respect. It generally came with a bit of resentment from other departments, and we knew it. But it didn’t bother us a bit. Seems that’s ancient history.
These kinds of decisions show that employees are a more and more looked at as a commodity and not an asset.

Right out of college I worked for a few weeks at a 3pl. I tried to negotiate remote work to not have to go into the city every day (1.5 hour drive there, 1.5 hour drive back all due to traffic). was told no and first day I show up another guy does who is fully remote (also fresh out of college) and was a little annoyed. They they started to ask people to come in on saturdays and sundays. (I live in the suburbs and it's my weekend...) It was so scummy and just a place to prey on college grads. I remember when I left for my fintech SaaS role i was insulted a few times by the people who hired me and told "your making the biggest mistake of your life". just a small rant because people like this exist and they suck
