How to Make the war room better

As the subject of this suggests I find that this place is seeing several good contributors leave and I’d like it to not continue because this place can be magical and have serious value for sales savages

so I’m left wondering how to make this place better to up engagement and prevent more notable contributors from leaving.

some thoughts I have and would love to see some feedback or other suggestions

group of 5 people nominated and voted on by the WR to moderate the War room and encourage positive behavior. A board for the war room if you will
holding events quarterly with c-suite and vp level to discuss items such as market conditions, software they bought and why they bought it etc…
PROSPECTING,SELLING,SOLD - idea here is that there is a place where we can discuss companies that we have sold into and get some inside info about others who have sold into them and the process they went through. The same way they ask for references about us.

of course these are just ideas and I’d welcome a discussion and feedback

Someone else mentioned the idea of being able to filter out the endless amount of posts about job offers and whether it’s a good base/OTE and some of those super redundant posts…

I feel like I just started to get a handle on how resourceful and helpful this platform can be and definitely hate to see some of these absolute legends leave us!

Yes, they need some kind of keyword comparison with existing posts and a warning that pops up with a "you sure you wanna post that?" message.

That, or maybe don't let new members post for the first few weeks.

I remember when they actually vetted people who were joining and that made the posts and engagement top tier. Now it seems they will let anyone in just to drive more potential revenue to their so-far very underwhelming jobs platform.

IMO they have a great idea here, but they got greedy and tried to cash it in too early. They can still save this community, but it doesn't seem like a priority.

Something else I just found out, the landing page is now just an ad for their jobs platform and better yet, ANYONE can see posts without an account by just going to https://bravado.co/war-room/posts/tab/my_feed - excellent job guys!

The WR is now a shadow of what it was 6 months ago, but I still come here on the regular hoping to see it regain its glory.

I’ll never fault a for profit business for deciding to push for revenue generation. In the same vein though what makes this place or made this place special was the sharing of knowledge and the banter that occurred with like minded individuals. Even if we can’t be monetized in the sense of recruiter into current companies I hope we can almost provide even more value by giving helpful feedback and maybe our experience is even more valuable in certain cases… IDK, I gotta go get some PandaDocs out.

I'm with you, but it was too much too soon. Like lots of startups, they lost focus and started chasing the shiny stuff. Should have stayed in their lane a little longer.

These are great ideas. Bateman was actually trying to save, but he ended up getting so frustrated he left.

A few of us unofficially moderated the best we could, for free, but didn't have the support, so they got frustrated and left.

I like your ideas, but unfortunately until the powers that be decide the WR is something they care about, it's gonna be what it's gonna be.

Such a solid point... WR was just a means to an end, I think. But from where I (and everyone I know out there in the real world) sit this is actually the most valuable product that Bravado has. Well, WAS. Until the focus switched entirely to Jobs/Perforamnce Index/Portfolio. Those are *fine*, I guess... but for anyone not looking to become a SaaS-bro this is where we can influence our game.

The WR unfortunately is a shadow of what it once was.

I do like these ideas, but not sure how much hope I hold for them to be enacted.

Every online forum needs some form of moderation, we just want them to prioritize community engagement over stakeholder interests.

The things I miss: Town hall events, AMAs, & Writing Prompts.

I would love to see posts be able to be sorted into categories like Prospecting, Selling, Sold (and others- Rapport Building, Networking, etc). Also fix whatever bug in the algorithm that causes my "hot" feed to stay exactly the same and hold old posts for weeks at a time.
