I hate Salesforce

That's all I'm here to say. I've used it at 3 different companies and it's always been different but equally terrible and crazy expensive. I get it's a database and can do anything. But man I prefer Hubspot or Pipedrive sooooo much more. That's it, just wanted to talk some shit and get that off my chest.

It's your admins that make it a break it. ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Agreed, but you need so many more admins than other really good CRMs and from what I've experienced the average SFDC admin isn't good enough to make it work well.

HubSpot is really fucking around with me this week and I might talk to the House or Marc just to see how much more pain I can inflict on myself.

All depends on how it is set up. Some companies I have worked for have been great and other instances have been complete dumpster fires. Got to keep that shit organized.

I thought I was autistic, but then I started using Salesforce and realised Iโ€™m DEFINITELY autistic. Man I took to it like a duck to water. Literally in my third week using it I was able to do stuff my sales manager couldnโ€™t (and he had over a decades experience using it)

But since I want to actually add something:

Salesforce when used properly is extremely powerful. Problem is too many businesses donโ€™t know how to actually use it, which is bonkers considering a business will spend at least 5 figures on it.

My recommendation is either spend a couple hours doing trailheads (boring), or look at salesforce tools like dolly.ai etc that are designed to make it more user friendly.

If you invest even a little time into understanding salesforce, it will pay dividends.

Ps: I have never used dooly.ai, I think corp shilled it in one of his insta posts a while back.

I had a manager once that described it as being akin to having a house with an attached garage but needing to go through the backyard to access it.

I love Salesforce. I have a SF backpack, hoodie, and more. It can be a wonderful thing if implemented properly with actual product roadmapping and foresight.

I want nothing more than to nuke the whole damn thing at my current company due to the absolute dumpster fire the โ€œadminโ€ left it in.

At some point I wanted to stop being a sales how much I hated SFDC.

Hubspot saved my career.

Amen. SF is a bottomless money pit and usually unusable.

why?ย  You have 10+ years of using various versions of SF in different companies and have seen just how much money Mngt throws at it and how little of a return they receive?ย  Or do you just work for SF and want to try to defend them.

Salesforce is a tool like any other tool. I've seen both very bad and very good implementations of SugarCRM, Netsuite, Hubspot, Salesforce, SAP or whatever CRM platform you want to refer to. What matters the most is how you set this up and how you drive change and adoption.ย
Buying a CRM and running a bad implementation / change strategy is like going to the gym to do just push ups. It's useless.
The CRM is what you make of it and yes, most of the time management is responsible for bad practices. Salesforce can be good or bad depending of what you make of it. Not to mention users that have no clue how to use it. Would you drive a plane without licence? Probably not. Still, plane, correctly used, are awesome tools to go from A to B.ย
My point is: Most of the time, the problem is not the tool, it's how you use it.ย

SFDC is cumbersome and if you donโ€™t have a great sales-ops team that has set up your insurance it can be a real nightmare.

SFDC can suck, get lean data, and trainyourself on salesforce trailhead, I found that to make it a powerhouse for me

Yeah, if you donโ€™t know how to leverage it itโ€™s worse than useless. But if you understand how to use it well then itโ€™s extremely powerful. Iโ€™m trying to convince my SED to pay for my admin certs even tho Iโ€™m an SDR. Little does he know itโ€™s my sales exit strategy/plan b.

Dont just talk shit... do something about it...ย

Download Dooly or ScratchPad.ย

Of course, don't be like me and download it first.ย  Get the green light from your SF admin and IT.ย  But you will be fine.ย ย
