If my AE closed a $20k deal I cold sourced, can I put that on the win wire?

Noob question, but I haven't updated any wins cuz I figured since the AEs close, I don't actually "close". I did get on the person for weeks on end, calling, emailing, and calling again, but my AE actually did the closing.


He recently closed the deal for $20k and I'm wondering, can I count that as a win on the win wire?

Does that count as a win for me on the win wire?

Well I was about to come guns blazing on AEs not giving their SDRs enough respect, but I guess the rules are clear.

Also if you are an AE, throw a bone to your SDR on deals they opened (spoiler you'll get a harder working sdr)

Based on my understanding of the Win Wire, that doesn’t seem to be the intended purpose but I recall this being brought up early on in its launch and this was discussed.

Personally, I think it would be great to let SDRs document their achievements related to prospecting accounts that have closed but that’s just me 🤷🏻‍♂️.

Ok, but real talk, when you guys were SDR's, how did you report your wins when applying for AE roles? % of quota achieved, $ closed in the pipeline etc? 

I ask because ideally I'd like to apply for AE roles sometime next year and want to know how to keep track of these opps I create.

Best chance at AE is internal promotion. I'm sure it happens, but personally I've never heard of a SDR getting an AE job at a new company. Chances are the company that will hire a SDR into an AE role is desperate and not somewhere you want to work.

Outreach was hiring AEs directly from SDR roles at other companies at least back when I was an SDR. Couple people I knew jumped over and were successful. A lot rarer but there’s companies out there who will hire you.
