14 days is a bit crazy low number. With that being said, yes I have. It worked well for the size of the company only having less than 10 sales people and a HUGE company territory.
I'm not opposed to this situation, but it does cause some unnecessary competition and room for shady shit.
14 days is my biggest hangup, 60 days, sure!

That sounds a bit challenging and like it could very easily lead to issues.
I'd want to know how disputes are handled. I'd also backchannel into reps to find out how ugly it really gets.

That’s messed up. 14days is nothing. That’s a lousy, cut throat environment and you will definitely get screwed.

What industry is this? I would 100% follow what @Sunbunny31said and back channel.

I would think this place is a grind and won't have many tenured reps, I would be checking LinkedIn and looking at how long reps are there.
Include in your search previous employees there by looking at "Past Company" in the linkedin search

That sounds like there will be a TON of infighting. We have sectors in my current shop where I jump on anything (with the AE) that hits a couple of criteria. Even with that, there are deals that I don’t hear about until pipe meetings

14 days is super low!

how many reps on the team? when i havnt had an assigned territory the team was really small so it made it simple.

you need to have really clear rules on engagement on how to handle this because if you dont then its super easy for it to go south.

I would for sure ask them to explain how they make sure there are no issues between reps.

It’s a big company. 100+ reps. I was shocked there were no territories.

That's not enough time. It must be for something you can sell fast?

Yeah, I think the mid-size sales cycle time is 1-4 weeks. So a fast sale. Still, I can't imagine the stress.

At my last job, the only territory we had was US and Canada. Any rep (there were 10 of us) could sell to any company (provided it was a good fit) as long as the account hadn't been touched in 60 days.

14 days is too short but this model is good for small company small team.

What kind of sale is this? sounds SUPER transactional and small.
Either way, not promising and I'd look around.

It's for a pretty well-known company I'm confident we've all heard of. It's selling a kind of sales SaaS platform. They said the average sales cycle is 2-4 weeks, but it is small/medium business sales, so that isn't unusual. I agree with you though. I decided not to continue interviewing for it. Sounds like a toxic work environment.

That’s sounds pretty crazy, but could it be they just want the sales team to have a very, very strict pipeline?

At my company we have the agreement that If there’s no activity on a lead, customer, etc. for the last three month, it’s up for grabs. I think it’s fine.

I think 3 months is fair, but 14 days seems too short. What if you're sick? Take a vacation?

That’s a bit unusual. In my experience, if you had a meeting with a prospect, it was yours for an entire year before it was fair game.
