Keeping distance from your former peers

The truth is that it is a strange and funny question but I have ever seen that people tend to separate their relationships a lot because of this matter, have you ever seen it? Or do any of you feel identified?

what makes you have to?

When you get promoted in a job, do you keep distance with your former peers?

Personally I feel like if i got promoted it was in part due to the people around me so I want to bring them up with me so we all keep growing, cutting ties seems silly, sure volume will drop but no need to cut

Your network is a majority of your value as you gain more experience. Always keep updating it and keeping friendly with former peers cordial.

Not at all, I would never tear off the relationship because I outgrew them. There are always going to be SOME people around who’re not very happy but not ALL.

I'm going to be that person.

The phrase is "distance from". And no, why would you do that?

No,you shouldn't cuz at some point they would be promoted as well and they might get to same position as yours or even higher and if that happened your relationship with him or her wouldn't be as good as you wish at all!

Best not to overestimate yourself. Your former peer could be your boss one day. FFT 🤷🏽‍♂️

Why would anyone do that? Unless they suddenly thought a promotion meant that they’re a better person and can’t interact with anyone ‘below’ them 🙄

That’s lame shit imo. Solidarity with your fellow workers is much more important than kissing the higher ups asses

You don’t need to keep your distance but depending on the promotion, your relationship dynamics might have to change a bit.

For example:,SDR to AE is different than being promoted to manage that team.

The worst thing you can do is keep your distance. You still work in the same company and team probably, so makes no sense..

I would never cut ties because I got promoted!
That's reeks weakness.
If I got promoted, there would be multiple reasons why that happened. In all honesty, I will remain as is with my former peers! If they need help, I will help them.
