Luggage

does anyone have any good recommendations for a small carry-on roller bag and matching little duffle to ride on top?

Perfect. This would be a good add. Particularly if they can get it branded.

I always use a carry on and a few packing cubes. Those junts changed my life.

If you’re that concerned about matching luggage, I would suggest a trip to a Tumi store. Very expensive and it all matches.

What is important to you? Luxury or functionality?

I would say more functionality but now I’d say luxury if I’m being honest

I’d check out Tumi for the cross-section. If you want decent aesthetics with solid function, check out Away.

Does suck they no longer offer that but in my experience, still the best quality for the money.
I regularly fill mine with brochures, would often have 30-40lbs on my carry on and it keeps going.
Does need a service now though.

I'm due for a new bag... I've been looking at AWAY and other similar ones... But feel that the legacy brands will be around. I'm leaving towards TravelPro.

TravelPro is a better price point that Tumi as well so likely less of a pain if it does crap out on you after a bit. For now though I am firmly in the Tumi camp until i prove myself otherwise.

Away bag snob here. Highly recommend, great inserts for cubes, shoes, suits if you want.
100 day free trial if you want to test one.
Lifetime warranty, I've had wheels & zippers replaced with a brand new bag.

I travel a lot for work, last year I ended up flying just over 170 segments and this year on track to do around 110.

I swear by Tumi, its pricey but worth its money as its stood the test of time, its flown over 200k miles with me. I have it paired with a Samsonite backpack which sits on top which I have had for over 6 years which has done well over 500 flights with me and still looks like new.

Prior to my Tumi case I had a Samsonite which pooped out very quickly.

For a more budget friendly option, I used to use Mandarina Duck, they are little harder to get hold and dont have a ton of options but are good quality for the price.
