Negotiating job offers

currently at 90k base / 180 OTE with ACV 25-40K and 60-120 sales cycle. 0% reps hitting quota and multiple layoffs but don't work too hard (realistically 160-170OTE) with a 10-20K base salary raise coming soon. Full cycle rep working enterprise sized accounts. 100 employees.

Have 2 job offers.

70/140 with many reps hitting quota and clear 1-2 year path to 120/240. Def will have to work harder but ready to do so. 500 employees.

75/150 with more reps than previous hitting quota. Not really a clear promotion path unless they start to move upmarket. 200 employees.

My question to you WR - is how do I negotiate these 3 to get the most value?

Alright, listen carefully…

Conference call all 3 and tell ‘em “Get your check books out fellas because Daddy’s for sale and Daddy ain’t cheap.“

You be tryna kiss your sister.

Neither one of those offers are good enough to leverage against your current OR could you get the offers up enough to justify leaving. Get a real management offer elsewhere and check back for tactics.

This is the right answer. However, the question I have it why did OP start interviewing? If it was for a better paying job, he didn’t get it.

Tough for me to get in the door at other companies - don’t have as many years experience as my current pay represents

Same question - there would have been something that triggered you to go interviewing with other companies.
That said - none of these offers match up to the current offer ( in my head).

Bad management, multiple layoffs, unrealistic quota.

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
Tell them both "I'm very interested and if you can meet my current base salary of $95k, I'm ready to move on over." (yes, I know you wrote $90k). See which one wants you the most.

Man I hate to accept less than what I make. I would try to at least negotiate once on the base before making a firm decision. If these are the only options with nothing else on earth, I would go with option 1

Wdym? Don’t need to as I got it pretty figured out at current company and our volume has decreased due to RIFs hurting our team sizes and cutbacks on marketing

Be transparent with both of the offers in that you would be taking a haircut on the base and OTE if you move. If the company you are in now is toxic and you have heard good things about the others than it might be worth 10k. So ask for 90 with the hope that they agree and worse case they offer 80.

To me 70/140 is the most convenient for you.
For a more achievable target that allows you hitting your quota much easier ,with no prob in getting promoted whenever there's a chance!

Curious if you told them why you were looking to move. Could have shot yourself in the foot if you did imo because it would be difficult to leverage your current base salary

I told them why I’m moving - it’s because we’ve been shrinking and there’s no upward mobility.

The first company may try to leverage the fact that there is more upward mobility as a reason to not meet current base salary, but I think it would be more than fair to ask

Yeah they probably will and it is a true statement. Probably going to email the VP that

Make sure to think about current career vertical opportunities at current current company with others leaving / laid off. If you find a way, you will be given chances to run bigger parts of the company.

Negotiate a fat severance if they lay you off within 6 months. With this market you never know
