New BDR

I just accepted a BDR position for a DevOps company (thanks for the advice on applying war room).

Any tips on first couple of months to start strong? I have a cold calling background with insurance and financial services.

Well done, sir. Congrats on landing the new gig!

There is a WEALTH of information here for the first couple months onboarding process. I would type "Onboarding" into the search bar above and find @CoorsKing the artist formerly known as Big Meech's "Onboarding Journal".

Read through that, see if it helps at all. And if not, come back here and ask specific questions you may have.

Go to my profile. Find the post titled “I just finished onboarding 3 new AEs” and absorb.

As always when starting a new position, industry, job etc, find a mentor internally.

Talk the people who have been promoted out of BDR in your company. They are your best resource.

Congratulations!   Plenty of great tips below from the team.

Learn all you can from your manager and peers, and definitely connect with the successful BDRs to pick up the good practices they have.   Good luck!
