Outreach to someone who views your LinkedIn profile?

Seeing people with the right job titles from target companies view my LinkedIn profile *feels* like a small win - (at least it's directionally better than zero views, or views from irrelevant people) but I haven't really found anything super-successful in terms of reaching out to them.

I heard someone on 30m to president's club podcast recently say he sends a note "Did I do something wrong?" which is funny to me but feels wildly inauthentic.

I've tried just adding them as connections - but it seems to have a low hit rate.

Anyone have a strong take or something that seems to work better than other alternatives?

My advice (and I struggle with this admittedly) is to care less.

Hence, why the "Did I do something wrong" thing kind of works and is funny.

What I've started to do and is somewhat successful is...after someone views my linkedin profile is I shoot them a connect request with a note saying:

"Hey NAME, thanks for checking my profile out. Would love to connect and continue following your journey".

Pretty high success rate and opens the messaging for future convos.

I have tried something similar and it appears to be working for me too.

Be authentic. People are tired of the LI BS. Don’t try to be witty or sly. Be professional.

Someone clicks on your profile, be honest. Reach out and tell them you’d like to connect. Provide them a real business value like “ I have been working with X company for the past year with A,B,C results and I’d like to see if there’s a match with what you’re looking for”.

Keep it simple and honest. People appreciate that.

Solid Pachacuti.

I genuinely like connecting with people on LinkedIn. Especially with those who post a ton. It helps me learn and know who to turn to if I ever need something that they can help me with.

do you know why they are looking at your profile? like are you active with posting / commenting?
i would keep adding them as connections but thats it. I would take it as a sign that you are doing SOMETHING right.
I try to keep content on my profile helpful for the prospects im trying to reach, so if they land on my profile is helpful in some capacity.

I mean, they're landing on my profile because I'm awesome - obvi.

I post a fair bit (and in my space 2x week puts me in like the top 1%) so most people are there through that I think. I can't imagine my prospects running searches on LI and navigating to someone in BD...

Don’t overthink. Message them and create a genuine connection - the cost of inaction is too damn high

Ok so "hey let's connect, I'll send 2 neutral messages, engage with 4 of your posts and then try to sell you something" is NOT a strategy you'd recommend??

I would definitely recommend it, but in a more value-add kind of a way. Genuinely ask yourself 2 questions before you try this strategy:

1] Can you make this person's life better, with what you sell?2] If yes, can you articulate that to them in a way that it doesn't feel like a hard-sell?

Hey @sellingout. There is absolutely no harm in hitting someone up that has checked you out on LinkedIn. In fact I think they kind of expect it.

The trick is to take the time to be SUPER SPECIFIC in your outreach message to them as to why you think you can be valuable to them.

For example: Hey <prospect name>, I noticed you viewed my profile and I’m glad you did! I represent XYZ company and we help <inset job title> to achieve <insert benefit>. I can see that you/your company have <insert some recent news> and it makes me think it could be great timing for an introductory meeting so WE (show depth) can show you how we helped <insert similar company> with <insert similar benefit or challenge>. Can you make time for a 30min intro call next Tuesday at 3pm?

I use this in my connection request and have a 60% connection rate.

Selling out,

As the local (company name) resource for (their company), I thought it logical to send a connection request.

Since my network has numerous (industry) professionals, let me know if I can provide you with an introduction to anyone.

LinkedIn publicly advertises that you can view who viewed your profile so it’s not like it’s weird. Casually calling it out can work very well
