Great tactic. Literally just happened today. My dog got off the couch in my office and moved to his bed. The DM that I was working with, was being a little cold, and then mid-sentence just stopped and goes, "was that just your dog?" spent 5 minutes talking about our dogs. From there on out her attitude totally changed.
