The literal first demo I set with my current employer was with this account, and we got a relatively hard "no" from the decision maker because we took the wrong angle for their specific circumstance. I've interfaced with the guy multiple times at various conferences/engagements since then and have great rapport, but I was letting it sit for a while before I reengaged personally.
One of our SDRs got him on the horn last month and was able to get him to agree to another meeting. I immediately asked him what prompted him to agree to the meeting once we got on the Zoom, and he referenced our persistence as well as a glowing customer review from a very similar account in their area.
Feels good to bring this one home, even if it's small.
