Good morning fellow savages,
Quick follow up for you all, here's part 1 of my story: https://bravado.co/war-room/posts/quota-doubled-during-my-hiring-process/comments/240372
TLDR: Switching from Ad sales to Ad tech sales. Had a bunch of interviews with decent company, when an offer landed I noticed Quota was nearly double that which was mentioned in earlier stage interviews.
So I booked a meeting with sales VP and cleared everything up. The recruiter wasn't lying when she said the numbers, she just mixed up the terminology. Boss said no one will hit quota in year one - decent reps hit $750-$1mm in year one, and hit goal ($2.4mm) year two.
I figured I'd be pipped by Q2 with my original scan of the offer, but she said we'll have at least a year before that kind of action is taken, as it takes 12+ months to fully ramp up. Commish is counted on first dollar sold, not at tiers - so there will be plenty of money to be made.
Also - the boss threw in a $5k quarterly bonus, nice expense account, and office furniture stipend. Brings the comp to $80k base $80k OTE $20k bonus with a realistic first year at $130k+ total.
Thanks a ton for all your help, Savages, you're looking at the newest software sales bro.
