Recent experience with Recruiters - rant

Having recently gotten laid off, and subsequently dealing with a bevy of recruiters, I am disappointed.

At the risk of generalizing here, most of my experiences were dogshit recently. Rushed, barely looked into my profile, and sometimes flat-out refusing to provide more details about the company/role.

I don't care how many goddamn rocket emojis you put in your LinkedIn DM, I'm not blindly accepting an interview without basic information.

Anyone have any similar experiences recently?

Am I off-base in thinking the overall quality of recruiters has gone down? Perhaps there is a dearth. /endrant.

Luckily I was able to land on my feet. I know there were a lot of layoffs recently so if I can be of any assistance, please let me know.

I used to get wildly inappropriate roles offered to me by really sloppy (or lazy) recruiters.
I've gotten fewer recently, but they've been much more targeted.
But I also wonder if somehow the cosmos knows when you're not looking and gives you good things, and that all inverts when you're actively looking.
Have you looked at the form CorpBro put together of companies that are hiring? Anything there for you?

I should've put it in the post, but I was luckily able to land on my feet in an AM role, a switch I've long been meaning to make. Funny how life works out.
And just as you said, the Universe then opens an AE role at a very sought after Software company here in Montreal. If they opened it a few weeks earlier I would've jumped on it. Oh well

Only recruiters I get are the scammers.
Had one legit one have a call with me and we seemed aligned on my experience, pay expectations, etc. We seemed aligned and she said she'd be in touch, but I haven't heard jack from her in 4 months. She looks at my profile every few weeks but no contact. Whatever.

She probably had a hiring freeze but couldn't or wouldn't communicate it. Now you're being lightly stalked to see if you're maybe going to be available when the freeze is lifted.

It's an agency recruiter, so theoretically she has multiple companies she's working with. Can't imagine she's been holding out all this time for one company.

Bro just take 15 valuable minutes of your time to call and give them your cell so they can try to sell you a position that is 20k under your current position and requires you to move!
They think you're perfect for the role (just like the other 100 people they sent the same inmail to).

I pretend the heavy bag at my gym are recruiters (seriously).

My worst story is after a verbal offer during a 3rd round interview the recruiter ghosted me then blocked me after I reached back out for an update.

To be fair I don’t care anymore as their territory target was only Small business for HR tech.

Sadly the majority of recruiters are bad and the talent pool available right now is crazy. Finding a good recruiter is key. Check out right choice resources and Betts recruiting.
