Resume feedback? - edited to include better resume

Hi gang! This makes me nervous but the hero Braintank convinced me to post my resume here for feedback.

I have an interview for a remote role with tons of inbound opportunities. I don't want to blow my chance with a shitty resume.

Be as brutual as you like. We're all sales people here - no thin skin to be found.

Edit: Updated with actual resume - not heavily edited LinkedIn pdf

This isn't a resume, it's just an export of your linkedin.
Very light on metrics or results.
Job descriptions does not equal resume. We all know what salespeople do.

You were correct and I changed the document uploaded.

Looks much better! I think the extracurricular is a fun one but some might not agree. Might just leave it for LinkedIn. I'd say my responsibility not our responsibility I think you had that bit under one of the sections. Short sales cycle of under a day? I'd take it out because it almost sounds like customer came in with money and was set to buy something anyway. Rest of it was pretty good. Other than that looked good to me. I see what you mean about a profile picture like a mini why me letter so that's interesting. Not something I have seen before but why not.

No one called me out on that before. It seemed like the simplest way to share a resume. But it’s not a resume that gets you interviews, I tell ya what.

I would agree with that. It is a heavily edited version of the LI resume.
Do you think AEs need the "profile" section at all? I've read that it's your chance to explain why your varied experiences all make you unique from other candidates. But I think you're correct that people know what sales people do.

No you don't really need profile section. You need to explain what you did in your jobs that was really good, potentially better than any one else. Or otherwise focus on your learnings partly. I think there's been some CVs uploaded here so have a look :) Usually 1 page max 2 and then just start talking to hiring managers and recruiters

Yeah thanks! I've been searching through previous posts about resumes for nuggets. I'm building a resume from one of Andrew LaCivita's templates and he has a profile section.
I'm thinking of using it as a way to explain where I am and what job I'm looking for. I can tweak the latter to each application and what they're specifically looking for?

Improved but you should try to pare down to 1 page.

Use bullets to make it easier to skim.
Also, I'm firmly in the "no profile" camp, but I may be in minority.

Profile is the place to add custom words for ATS purposes. If OP doesn’t know what that is, the section is pointless. Otherwise, yeah- so many words. 1 page max. Rule of someone’s thumb says 1 page per 10 years experience.

Google resume template there are free ones you can download

Turn your profile into an objective (look up what this is)

Get this down to a page.

Okay I see what you mean about the objective. And I've chopped it down to 1 page plus the education and volunteer section. I'm guessing that's fine since the role doesn't require either - I'm just hesistant to not put the education on there.

I personally would leave out the extracurricular activities unless its relatable to the industry. I think it's personally cool to be a volunteer shepherd, but I have never seen that on a resume and I don't think it brings any value to your resume.

To much wording on your copywriter position when you should be focused on your current position highlighting your success and how it help the company grow. How you overcame objections to reach your goals.
For example when you say,"answered sales floor phone calls and reached out to prospects" what were your conversion rates from prospect to customer.
What did you do to get to 120% execution rate in Q2, this would show what company tools you use to reach that goal and how you will take advantage of the new companies tools to reach your goals once you get the position.
Try showing consistent improvement from the start of your career as a SAE which led to best achievement of 32%. For example Q1 10%, Q2 15% Q3 24% and Q4 32% which led you to your biggest deal of $90,000. It shows you are proactive.
This is just my opinion. Good hunting. All the best. Keep us posted.

This is great, thank you! I cut out like 90% of the copywriter stuff. I also cut out quite a bit of the sales stuff - everyone knows sales people answer calls.

I could definitely add growth data. I wonder if that would play better on a cover letter. I tried to at least show that I left my old sales jobs as one of the best on the team.

Just make sure you are not long winded in your cover sheet and that it focuses on why you're the right candidate for the job.

Good call. I edited in average deal cycle. This is strange to admit but my current company doesn’t really do quota? We have team goals for deals to close and sort of split them up (senior AEs like me get a bit more on our plate than the newer ones). But ultimately they don’t keep track of “you needed to close 12 deals this quarter and you only got 10.” Or they do whichever quarter or month they feel like it. But I’ve not gotten actual hard numbers to commit to for months.

It’s like a screenshot of your LinkedIn, hon. Open word and start writing stuff that your LinkedIn doesn’t show.
