Resume template

Looking for a resume template for AE roles. My existing resume is one page with my career, education and interests. I am planning to add skills and summary since JobScan shows <40% match for my resume with most jobs at the moment.

Does anyone have a favorite resume format to deal with ATS?

Reverse Chronological is the most common format and its the one I recommend since (1) its easily read & (2) its what they are expecting. But here's a sample format:

Name
Contact Info
Professional Summary
Experience
Education
Volunteer/Personal Interests

The general expectation is 1 page for every 10 years, max 2 pages. Longer resumes are typically for Academics or PHd's who need to list Publications, etc.

If you're getting <40% on JobScan - you need to retool your resume for that specific job. If the JD mentions "SaaS" 5-6 times and you only have it once, BOOM - you're gone. So match the number of important terms in the JD to your resume. This is what your Professional Summary can help with.

I haven't used jobscan but it's all about the words. Ever consider dropping something like this underneath your "why I'm great" section? Has worked for me... just change the words to match the job. Obviously you wouldn't use SMB, MM, and ENT for the same JD. Just a template.

You for sure neeed all of these filtered across the if you dont do this section. Any buzzword in a job description needs to be in there

yep. No need to do it this exact way. It just lends itself to easier customization. It's worked well for me in getting through anyway.

Definitely that's the case, as missing the skills and summary do impact any resume, try to add em and see if your match rate would get any better.
I strongly believe that there's no perfect resume format, so just try to have a shortlisted one that really describes your personality, experience and skills!
