Tech mixer in nyc; how do i win?

Wassup Savages, i just bought a ticket to this mixer (tech meetup where recruiters and startup founders) and the like will be attending. url posted!

i've been trying to get into tech sales since july but to no avail. recently started implementing video outreach to recruiters (advice from my coach) and still very little came of that.

This is where the question comes in, i'll be traveling to get to this event and i want to make the most out of it. I know this is great because i have a decent personality and i am outgoing. What advice do you have for someone like me? please add your past experiences as well.

But my serious advice would be this:

1. Do your research, is there a specific tech founder or person you want to talk to? Is there a recruiter at a company you want to work for that will be there? Do your research and make sure you connect with everyone on your Target List.

2. When its ends make sure you are on top of your follow ups, connecting with a recruiter on linkedin, sending them an email, etc.

3. Don't over indulge on the food or free drinks

4. Understand its a networking mixer, where most people dont know anyone and people want you to come up to them a chat, so be willing to put yourself out there.

All great advice! Btw point 4 is not always the case. At least in my experience a lot of people already know a lot of people.

True, but I feel like its good mindset no matter what. Since it gets you out of your shell if you think everyone is feeling the same way.

Bought a ticket, traveling, no idea which founders or recruiters will be there. mmmkayy. So, now you have to talk to everybody to find anybody you’d want to work for? This is a problem. I’d advise you to do whatever you can to figure out who and what will be there. Then, craft a “why your company, why me, why now story that is not only hyper-personalized, but also insightful, brilliant and logical.

Research research research, have companies and attendees targeted, like any conference, and ask insightful questions vs pitching yourself, make them want to pitch to you about why you should join them.

Have sequences ready to go, no seriously.
Pre-written emails, call steps, linkedin steps just get their details and put them in the funnel, if not you're serious about the job hunt pay the 99 bucks a month and get apollo.io for the data and sequence tool .

Make the follow up sequence beforehand (use the agoge sequence) and just drop the in sequence once you meet the right people and follow up via the sequence like any SDR would.

Shows you can prospect across omni-channel and gives them a taste of what to expect from you if they give you a shot.
