ugh this is also kind of annoying.

if you dont want to connect with ppl you dont know.....then dont accept the connection request.

if you dont want to have ppl selling you courses....unfollow them / remove the connection.

LinkedIn can be a cesspool BUT you are still in control of what you see....

Agree with everything you said. Also agree with the author of the Medium post that LinkedIn has become more of a Sales/Marketing platform than a professional networking site. You are right though. Doesn't take that long to unfollow/block people who you don't want to engage with🤝

I was astonished when I noticed the political rants creeping onto the platform, as I too wondered why you would ever EVER want potential employers or employees reading your angry screeds. I’m sure it’s led to lots of bullets dodged by companies that passed on candidates because they stupidly overshared. I don’t scroll LI that much anyway, but it’s like almost every other social media platform, edging its way toward being a useless cesspool.

This is far and away my biggest problem with LinkedIn still calling itself a business professional resources. The rest of the shortfalls I understand and can live with/navigate around but fuck man, I hate this shit. No matter your viewpoint or belief, spam it somewhere else.

Yes, garbage content gets more likes and thus appears higher, but you are still 100% responsible for the scrap heap you find yourself in.

Maybe in her time between being a "Graphic Artist, Photographer, Musician. Writer in inspiration, creativity, mental health, life lessons, self, and pop culture." she could find some time to adjust her settings.
