[update] Made it to $250k+ thanks to your advice

A few quarters ago, I asked y'all - how did you reach salaries of $250k+?

I took your advice to heart and took advantage of the great resignation. I'm happy to report that I made it to the $250k+ OTE milestone!!! Most reps here make around the $300k mark, with the top performer earning $600k last year! I went from $140k OTE to $295k+! This is such a life-changing amount of money. My family is so much better off now with less stress and more peace of mind! The new company so far is great, supportive, and team-oriented. There's a steep learning curve and more to do but it's doable and I can't wait to crush it!

Thank you all for the advice and motivation! I switched industries from finance to cybersecurity/infrastructure with a focus on financial clients and leveraged my network to find the right connections. I finally feel like I'm in the big boys/girls sales club (albeit, still the rookie). I only see more growth and opportunity as I pursue this path. I wouldn't have gotten here if it wasn't for everyone's insight!

Biggest win is if you can keep your expenses the same. I’ve always been shit at this. Bigger house, cooler car. Stay the same, Set a savings goal and take it straight out of your pay check automatically.

So true! Best example is paying off a car, credit card or something similar. Celebrate paying that shit off but don't let yourself see that "extra" cash as disposable income now. Re-invest it somewhere so you continue to live below your means.

Just be careful folks. Ask questions about the status of the business you are joining. Are they burning cash? How much? Will they need another round of funding to survive the burn? I’m sure there were a ton of high base sellers at Fast……and we all know where that ended. I’ve built a lot of comp plans and a $250k base for $300-400k OTE doesn’t check reality number boxes
