Weeding out of AEs poll

There was lots of talk of middle of the pack and below AEs getting weeded out altogether.  Deal cycles need tightening as budgets are tightened and many AEs won't last as a result.  The talk has calmed down but where do we stand with all this

Yeah, me too, thought it was specific to my org. Oops.
Overall, corrections happen frequently during downturns. AEs are one area where underperformers and midpack performers may be particularly affected, at least in the short term.

Based on the layoffs it seems like at a minimum it has started to weed out reps. Not sure how much it will continue though

Totally, but I noticed around me a lot of layoffs were among newer hires, not so much performance based

Seems that it has happened and it’s kind of slowed. Also fed rates are supposed to stabilize so that’s nice

Like every cycle, companies will over-fire and have to scale up quickly. But honestly, the middle of the pack is needed. You need someone to sell to some customers/markets, so there will be a vacuum.
