I had been working this deal with a super cool company for around 4 months. They ghosted for awhile, but then I saw in the news that they had just won a multi-million dollar contract so in my head I thought, "great, now you have money to pay for my software". The guy came back to me and told me that he would like to pay $350/ month for our solution... No sir, that's not how this works. I quoted them over $1k/ month which, again, I thought would be an easy buy in considering you just got a bajillion dollars. He said he would have to discuss internally but in the meantime, I went on vacation. I connected them with my director just in case and they ended up purchasing through her while I was sipping pina colada's on a beach in Hawaii. Best day ever!
