It is for the first time this year! I believe it's the same format as any major tournament, so no real team element to it like the ryder cup, but should be cool nonetheless.

Respectfully I disagree with you @Incognito. The worlds top golfers are all athletes and have insane workout/diet regiments and mental toughness that is unparalleled. I mean if archery, shooting can be sports for the olympics why not golf?

The skill and hand-eye coordination needed to be as good as those guys are is unreal. Also there's no fat guys that play professional table tennis.

Yeah, the act of having a horse jump a hurdle and staying on that horse is super impressive, I'd die 100%, get bucked from the horse, and trampled. Golf, Tennis, Equestrian riding all seem like society's way of saying you have expensive taste.

Yeah they have done a really good job at bringing athletes over from other sports. Isles and Baker from sprinting and then a few football players. They definitely are not as technically skilled but fuck are they athletic!

My university has its first ever Olympic athlete: Isabelle Connor - and she's a rhythmic gymnast! She's in the rhythmic gymnastics group, which I will be watching for the first time. Then she goes back to UCSC to complete her astrophysics (!) degree.

Race walking is by far my favorite "how is this an event" event. The penalties you can amass over the course of your event, the technique that would cripple me if I tried, the thrill of the last few meters. Simply breathtaking.
Handball and the swimming events are my personal favorite. As a golf fan, curious to see how this shakes out compared to Rio 2016.
