What should I be thinking ๐Ÿค”?

Today finished my 6th day of cold calling and I have made over 750 calls as and SDR. but I still haven't booked a meeting. there are people at my company that seem to book a meeting every other day. I don't know if I'm picking the wrong company's to call or I'm just not closing well.ย

I had one guy that was super interested and when i pressed him to book a meeting he said he's too busy I pushed and said we can just throw a time on the calendar and always change it but my boss told me to let him go.

thoughts?

EDIT: after 800 calls I did it. I booked a meeting it was a battle it didn't come easy and I fought till the last min.

As a BDR, here is what I would do to measure my performance and tweak my action. You don't need to track the number of total calls as your CRM and dialer should be able to, but follow the system below:

1. Track how many times you talk to a DM.
2. If the DM says yes - write their name and also what did you say that got them to say yes or why did they say yes as well as any objections you overcome in the process

3. if they say no - write the objection down and why it stumped you.

4. compile a list of those objections and find at least one person/coworker to practice a few with each day so that you can perfect your rebuttals. (btw this helps them as well)

This has helped me tremendously even into an AE role when I first started selling.

What do you sell? Do you collaborate with your team to see how they are booking meetings?

keep dialing, you'll get one. it's all a numbers game.

Yep, your first 3 meetings are in the list. You just havenโ€™t called them yet. They might be 3 in a row.

Find out who the others are targeting, and who is booking meetings. You need to understand your ICP, and the best way to get that quickly is to ask a successful SDR/BDR. Itโ€™s still a numbers game, but definitely make sure you are targeting the most likely companies and contacts.

All of this. Plus the others may have contacts they know at the locations. You'll get there. โค๐ŸฆŠ

18 points of contact or something like that is what it takes. Just keep dialing and reach out to your leads other ways too

Usually takes about 20 no's to get 1 yes. 750 calls with a 5% connect rate means you are probably at around 20-30 conversations that have happened and the yes is just waiting for you. The person that was interested you should nurture, sum up the convo you had and suggest a time that works. Did they mention any particular problems that you help solve, you could also take that and go to their boss or other higher ups with a solution based meeting to discuss the usual challenges you solve and all.

How many connections? Sales is a numbers game but blind dialing won't help. If you have had 20 legitimate conversations with no meetings booked, now you are likely needing to work on the pitch/the close. If that is your only one, need to work on the connection rate

The call number doesn't matter as much as the number of prospects you actually spoke with. Figure out what the top performers conversion rate is for contact to booked meeting.
For the "soft booking," it's not worth it. They are very likely to no show.

Not interestedโ€ฆ..

โ€œSounds like there arenโ€™t any particular challenges being faced, nor any goals that would need to be realized to see these challenges as solvedโ€. Is that accurate?

โ€œWhat would need to happen for the previous question to be trueโ€
