Worth it to renew AWS Cert?

Three years ago I got an AWS Cloud Practitioner Cert because I thought it might help my resume as I made the transition from banking to tech/SaaS (it didn't, at least not in any way I'm aware of). I never ended up selling cloud though I'm open to it. Cert expires in a month, is it worth it to renew, or is there no benefit whatsoever?

Do you have a technical reason to keep it up? If not, don’t. That doesn’t mean it has to leave your resume.

No. I only got it when I was first making the transition from banking to software and I figured it would look good on my resume. Never ended up using it at all.

I did the same with the CCNA certification. It got me into technical sales but I never programmed a router.

Not really sure it matters tbh.

If you don't plan on using it I wouldnt, plus you can always renew if you needed it in the future.

I really can't say that it has.

I am curious why everyone is saying no. I don't have the cert but I am planning on taking some cloud certifications. What's the cost or process? I don't see why you shouldn't renew (based on my limited knowledge on the matter though so take it with a grain of salt).

The test itself takes ~1 hour (give or take), and costs 100 bucks. First time I took it I spent a week studying, and like $20 on courses/practice tests.
I've not used the cert. I'm not sure it has any value at all in the sales world. In 3 years I've only had interviews with two cloud companies, and neither one seemed to care about the cert (it also didn't help me get offers). Cloud Practitioner doesn't even have any value on the technical side of the business either, only the more advanced certs matter (and even then secondarily to actual work experience).
Like you, I have limited knowledge on the matter, which is why I posted the question.

Understood. If the process is easy to re-attain if (if you ever need it), then I would agree with the others and pass on it.

I wouldn't bother. You can still speak to cloud since you've been through it.
I have sold solutions deployed on AWS and Azure. No certs needed or even requested, by my employers or by the customers.

I've only once had it come up in an interview and it was a hiring manager who told me he thought it would make me talk down to prospects. This was a place that sold leasing software. Had nothing to do with cloud.

How odd! That seems like he was valuing a lack of education.

Don't think it's interesting. How was the change from banking to sales? I'm sourcing M&A deal right now. So a bit of both worlds I would say.

When I say "banking" I was literally a branch banker. One of those guys at the desk doing loans, and opening accounts, etc. I wasn't working out of a fancy office in NYC or anything like that.
Biggest difference is there's far less bullshit in SaaS sales. That and I get to work with only B2B sales, in banking it was a mix of B2C and B2B. I really don't like B2C.

Okay, This was a Boring Deal & I offered them to signup and gave them the flexibility to start at their convenience. Since it was a startup, cash crunch and all sort of things, I had to be like oka...
Say congrats!
