Would you pay $4,000 to be trained by the Wolf of Wall Street?

Ok so I now we already talked about this. 95% of you said no to a sales coach bc they are washed up. But I just stumbled upon a company while cold calling that is actually Jordan Belfort AKA the real Wolf of Wall Street that the movie was made after, apparently he is actually a sales trainer and considered the best.

So now I'm scrolling his site and checking it out, he has 150-400$ kits and a comprehensive $4000 program too.

Never afraid to invest in myself and learn something more, open to buying all the books, learning from experience, and learning from others. Now I know most of you are already top reps and salespeople's

Anyways would be curious to know your thoughts, did you even know that he was a sales coach now? is he washed up? what would you do? Have you done anything by him? How annoying am I? Dad? Dad I need 4k, can I use your card?

**Side note I asked my company to front the 8K for Marcus, they were not game, even though my sales coach quit. Alternatively they handed me someone from marketing as a 'new sales coach' and gave me 2 weeks to get some results or feedback, going into week 2 planning on shitting on them lmao.

I told you this answer before: leave your current company since they’re not investing in you. I don’t give a shit if you’re going to be there from the ground up and potentially build the team out. You’re not ready. Find a larger company that is willing to train you. You need to find a manager or mentor to do this for free instead of paying some idiot $4k. If so, I wonder how much time you've actually spent in sales.

Jordan Belfort is a conman, not a salesperson. Conmen superficially share traits with salespeople, but the #1 trait of a GREAT salesperson is empathy.

The ability to occupy the mind of your prospect (and feel what they're feeling).

Jordan Belfort stole money (a lot of it from elderly people), went to jail, kept the money, showed no remorse, and rebranded himself. I don't hate on him for how he makes his money, but I would NEVER hire a salesperson who looks up to him (because it tells me that salesperson doesn't fundamentally understand what sales is).

would I spend 4k for it? Absolutely not. I am curious about the content in it though. JB puts out a ton of free content on Spotify/YouTube that's actually pretty solid. As long as you can get past him blowing smoke up his own ass the whole time. Overall, I feel like there won't be any more benefit from it than you would get from reading his book that's $12.

A buddy of mine passed me hours of his materials straight outta pirate bay, and I read his book. I prob spent like an hour watching the courses and dropped them. They might be helpful if you are selling credit cards over the phone for the first time, not for tech SaaS sales to crush quota.

I would not spend money unless I already went through the free stuff first.

Currently doing that right now cause most of the people in my org think they don't need it (gives me an edge over them).

JB stuff is good but it's not technical overall. My focus would mainly lie in Sales Enablement and Analytics cause if you manage your territory data effectively, you can allocate your resources better when doing Blitz and outreach.

By all accounts, my opinion of sales trainers is they are all people who failed at actually selling so they have to talk about it because its the next best thing to them. I make no exception with JB, he sold but he did it illegally and that makes him a bad sales person by every principle in the game. There are more than enough free resources out there and the rest is learnt in the school of hard knocks.

I would not drop 4k on that, yet again I only make 3k a month at this point. Is sales training worth it? I'm hoping to get into an organization that has mandatory good sales training as far as them directing you to create your own personalized methodology that works for you. I wouldn't want to be a script robot asking the same questions over and over like a checklist to each prospect. I prefer a fluid off-the-cuff conversation, if it works out, then it works out. Otherwise, disqualify and move on.
