YOYOYO. Advice for Establishing a sales function? 1st SDR-> AE -> MGR w/ 2 SDR

ALRIGHT SO.

I signed the offer, I start tomorrow. (see my prev. post.)

its in HR solutions

great company, establishing their sales presence.

working with a sales coach as a consultant and me as the lead SDR to setup a sales function to drive more meetings and revenue.

plan is 3 months of success-> 6k base 10k OTE raise-> another 3 months of success-> AE role + manage 2 new SDR's being brought on -> unknown**take this shit public in the next five years as the sales director & retire rich**

tomorrows my first day and I will be generally shadowing the CEO and COO in their demos (70% close rate), reading blogs, getting head knowledge, working on a pitch, meeting with the sales coach consultant, setting up a process and system.

CEO and COO and Coach are said to give me autonomy to set up a system as I like. Sales coach seems down to earth and smart so I think we will figure it out.

techstack I think will be Hubspot, sales navigator, LinkedIn for now thats all I know

i'd be curious to know about any past experiences or tech for the beginning thats reccomended, anything helps

right now im going to implement hubspot, sales nav, zoominfo, and pair it with lavendar and hemmingway, going to be targeting 100-200% emp. growth startups  in the bay area or cali 10-50 for now.

but I wanted to pop on here and see if you savages had any words of wisdom, banter, or shit talk to throw my way

i love yall

I got hooked on "The First 90 Days" approach.

You can get the jist of it here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aLu3NazBbLw

although I recommend buying so you can scribble notes:  https://www.amazon.com/First-90-Days-Strategies-Expanded/dp/1422188612

Congratulations and good luck!

Don't forget the words of another savage: "There's no such thing as a stupid question, but there are lazy questions."

No not at all!

Just saying, before you ask your execs a question, make sure it something you couldn't figure out on your own first.

Nice job! I like what @braintank wrote about having a 90 day plan you can write on. But I will also add that if/when you know your ICP, get something to source prospecting data into your tech stack.
(it's something I've been looking at adding on my own lately).

Lusha for $29 a month is not bad, but also the war room has a good article on a cheap tech stack.

Best of luck!
