3-18 Friday Happy Hour - Should be a national holiday edition

Hey Savages!


Missed last week with travel.


Hope everyone is enjoying the first two days of the NCAA tournament. If you had St. Peter’s, you’re a liar. Hows productivity the last two days? I’ve pretended to work a good bit and managed to accomplish nothing.


Tonight is my last night in our apartment before we move tomorrow. Celebrating with some champagne and packing tape.

I'm ramping up at my new company and it's honestly fucking great. I feel like an abused person who has moved into a safe house and is learning to love again lmao. 
I'll be celebrating tonight with a few local brews!

Congratulations on the move.  Hope it goes smoothly.  After the craziness of last weekend with my son's playoffs (did not advance to state in a heartbreak of a close game), having a weekend off with N O T H I N G is amazing.  Going to kickback, do some yardwork if it doesn't rain, start a new puzzle if it does.   

On standby to bail out some savages if it's called for, so sticking to Crystal Geyser sparkling and maybe some Yorkshire tea to keep the caffeine level sufficiently high.

They went in as #1 seed, won game 1 handily, but the #3 seed team came loaded for bear, played like an elite team, and played an awesome game vs us and ended up sweeping through the round robin and progressing automatically to the championship game.  Top two teams go to State.   Our boys made it to the semi, my son tied the game with a spectacular effort in the third, but unfortunately a late goal on a wacky bounce into our net with less than 90 seconds left was the stake in the heart. 

My son did have an argument with the ref at .23 left that ended up with him getting an ejection and a game misconduct, so he had a complete game to end the season, complete with swear words I didn't know he had.    It was honestly a shame that either team had to lose; it was a fantastic game, but tbh, they never should have been in that position.  They should have not let game 2 get away from them as they did and put them into a must-win situation.   My heart broke a bit, because it's his last time to get to States - he's earned 3 trips to NorCal, eliminated in semis twice and Covid got them 2 years ago - but it's not easy to win.  

The sad part:  I watched the final, and BOTH teams were not the same as when they were playing our kids.    They definitely stepped up to play our team and had the games they needed to have when they needed them.   Lessons all around for sure but ZERO regrets for the fun (and long) season.

That sucks. Not a fun way for it to end. Oddly enough I played college sports and can still vividly recall my last high school game. I think it’s some combo of when you’re most impressionable combined with nostalgia. He’ll have the memories for forever.

Fun Friday. It's Purim (aka Jewish Halloween) so got to visit daughters preschool for a parade and pageant. She was the cutest Darth Vader I've ever seen. 

Picked up the kids from school, visited the library to pick up some books, then went to a new restaurant with the fam. Food was decent, kids behaved, and me and Mrs tank took advantage of half price beers.
