Advice-Corporate World to Tech/SASS- How to Vet

After a long career in the "traditional" corporate world and looking to move into the Enterprise Tech/Saas world, what advice/good questions to ask when vetting the company? Turning to the War Room for the best advice. Some questions I have:

  • % of folks who make quota? What is a good number to see?
  • Exec Turnover?
  • Rep Turnover?

I'd be curious but what you mean about traditional. A good transition point into SaaS might be to target somewhere with a lot of stability when it comes to the salesforce, of which the most visible option is Salesforce. Work somewhere like that in an enterprise capacity for a year or two, get to know the industry and build out a good network and then explore what works for you.

Thanks. Traditional in the sense that itโ€™s a F500 company in an established industry that is not tech in any capacity.ย

Oh yeah, plenty of companies would want to hire you with that background then. Lots of software companies don't really have any insight into how those organizations work and want to sell to them.

I'm a bit confused, are you in sales now?ย

Regardless, I'd keep an eye on:
1) ARR growth (50% y/y for past 3 years at least)
2) Net dollar retention (>110%)
3) Who the sales leader is (have they scaled SaaS before)
