Anyone ever do sales with Cintas?

This week, I am scheduled to have an interview with a sales manager from Cintas. From what I can gather, they offer sales in Faculty, Uniform, and Fire Safety. Can anyone provide information on the base and commission structures at this company? I'm also curious about the sales culture at Cintas, so if anyone has experience there, I would love to hear about it.

Just to give some context, I am based in the SF Bay Area and the position I am interviewing for is a sales rep, not a route sales role.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

They call me Daddy, Sales Daddy
My BiL worked for them for a couple years. I don't know what they pay, but its a lower-mid lever job, so walk in knowing that. I'd check Glassdoor, as its probably pretty accurate.

Regarding culture - I remember him saying that it was just ok. You're basically calling on clients all day long so if you're not ok with in person cold calling, its not the job for you.

Have you started with Repvue and Glassdoor to see what's there?

Check the website to see what you can find out about what they're posting for the roles that are available.

Finally, if you're on LI, you might want to hunt up some current + former reps to see what they say by reaching out and seeing if you can get some responses.

Best of luck!

Just got an inmail from one of the recruiters there, I asked some screening questions about the role. It's likely an in person role in the SF Bay area btw.

Yea, im okay with that. I want to get out of the house to be honest. I've been doing remote for over a year now and it gets boring.

I think if you're aiming for a BDR/SDR role, go for it. I spoke to the guy and he wanted me to go back to being a BDR, which for someone who's done that for 2 years is no bueno, I'm in a closing role again and intend to get more closing experience.

Also, just so you have numbers, here's what he gave me:

"Average reps make $132K, and top performers are $250+. Base starts at $50k + 10K bonus first year + $10K Car plan. Then unlimited commissions and quarterly bonuses!"

Take it with a grain of salt, but hopefully having numbers to reference will help you.

Good luck!

That base pay is too low. Idk how reps can make $132k average with a $50k base.

Exactly. Which is why the better question to ask is "How many reps on avg hit 'x' amount and could I speak with one of them after?"

All the numbers are bs Imo and can be fabricated as is. For someone with less than 2 years of experience, I can see the appeal.

I don't know anything about the money side. Every person I've known said it was a decent job that looked good on resumes, especially if you performed well.

Best of luck, lots of good advice here already.

I've heard it's a bit of a meat grinder from a friend who worked there, but that overall it was a good learning experience.

No. I have heard they run their people into the ground. Could be a regional thing ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™€๏ธ

Always wondered how it was there they been trying to recruit me for the last two years. I spoke with one of the managers and most of his team was making 100k but top performers were making around 150k which at the time was no one on his team. They also said ypu get a territory and have the option to cross-sell, up-sell, and do new biz. through cold-calling, email in drop-ins.

I was an FS sales rep for Cintas. The base at the time was $43K, but a great rep can make $100K-$120K. The commission is paid out monthly and they operate on multipliers. Forexample if you sell $100 worth of mats, you get paid $900 after install (9:1 multiplier for mats). They do quarterly bonuses too if you exceed quota and an end of year bonus if you his presidentโ€™s club.
They do give monthly reimbursement for your car. They also put you on their car insurance and give you a corporate credit card to pay for gas. It is an in person role and you cold call by going door to door to businesses. Some sales managers will ask you to bring the business cards to verify, but just depends.
If you are killing it, they will 10000% praise you. If not, you will know quick and they will coach to make you better.
