Anyone experienced in an Entry Business Consultant role for offering credit to merchants?

Hi all. I'm new to the app but I appreciate any and all contributions to this thread. Essentially offered a role that is mostly commission based with a slight base involved. I will be prospecting leads on mainly 6 products:
Performance Loans
Lines of credit
Term Loans
Self-employed mortgages
Business credit building
Merchant Processing.
Anyone experienced in this field and have words of advice on what to expect?
 Thanks!

I have far too much experience, and it depends on where in the market you are targeting.

That is promising, I would love to hear more. I haven’t started yet but I believe we offer these products to merchants across the country. What information do I need in order for you to give an in-depth response?

Depends. Are you actually funding or are you referral/marketing engine? What’s your box? Once I know these, I can help.

We’re pretty much the broker between the merchant and the lenders.

Whats a box? My commission rate? 25% of whatever commission I make for the company.

Do you have any general advice? This is my first commission heavy sales job besides being an agent so I’m curious.

The reason its low base/high commission is that its a high churn environment. And be aware of WHEN they pay the commissions - is it when you make the sale or some time a long way down the road?

And yes, its high numbers game.

Do you think there is still value to be had from this? If it helps me hammer out new skills, I’m all for it

I know this world. Joey, it’s like selling life insurance to dead people. They all want it. Few are qualified. Big time numbers game. Not for everyone.

So it’s paid bi-weekly. So far it seems like a good group of people. I don’t sense toxic/manipulative behavior. So I’m encouraged.

Don't know your background or qualifications but these types of roles can be a very tough way to break into sales. If they sold you on the role based on how much you "could" make, a number that sounded too good to be true, it probably is.

I set the bar relatively low in terms of income for the early months in this job so I’m not expecting the world. I’m not hurting too bad financially rn so not in a rush. So far the work is definitely a grind but the group of guys I’m with are super positive and friendly. It makes me want to dial one more every time I get a click.
