Anyone know anything about Bloomberg?

So yeah. Salesforce laying people off, and now it's close to 1%. It may increase/decrease in the future. So that is a bummer.

But what do you guys think about Bloomberg?

What companies did not go on a hiring frenzy after seeing results because of the Covid tech boom? I think it might be good if we pay attention to companies who played it smart.

I dont know anyone that works there, but Bloomberg looks good on Repvue.

Its not a good market, and its hard to predict any company is safe from layoffs

It's going to be a challenge. Best thing you can do is cast a wide net. If they overhired, they aren't going to be hiring again for a bit, and a number of companies are currently on a hiring freeze, which is not surprising considered the macroeconomic environment.

This is a good time to network and talk to hiring managers about their companies. It's going to be a challenge, as you will be in the same pool as recently laid off and experienced reps, but that's sales - you have to be persistent.

It's really hard to know from the outside who went on hiring frenzies outside of the ones that have publicly announced layoffs. If you want to see who has been laying off, there is an online tracker at layoffs.fyi you can take a look at.

I know several people who USED to work at Bloomberg. Nothing but horror stories. Ineffective senior leadership and turnover at the top ranks caused whiplash down through the ranks. Massive top line, which means intense focus on the bottom line. You're a number there and they'll do whatever they have to do to hit their bottom line.

I know many reps that came from Bloomberg who said it was a revolving door. Like many other sales orgs you are a number, learn shit on your own with no coaching/support, then if you don’t produce as expected then let go.

Being a bbg user, most of our profession uses it, and we’re all set-up. So pretty sure it’ll be a huge challenge, but on the other hand, if you’re successful, rewards seem pretty nice
