Are we "at war?"

I just joined Bravado and am really interested in connecting with and learning from others who are in the marketing and business development space, but I was rather disconcerted about the title of this group as the "War Room"... because it's way past time for us to start thinking more creatively about marketing and sales. It doesn't have to be a war or a battle...

Does anyone agree?

It's called a war room because we are strategizing on how to win the battle of sales, dominate our competition and earn massive commissions. It is not (afaik) designed as a place primarily for marketers...

Although it's not "a time of war" A war room in sales sense has always been where the minds come together to talk about strategy on deals, objections, and progression. It's about getting a foothold on the situation by utilizing the "officers" or the "other masterminds" in the room.

this has nothing todo with sales v marketing. the concept of a "war room" is just a place where ppl get together to make key decisions.

so this is a place for sales ppl to connect, share ideas, make jokes, and blow off steam. but this is for sure not a place for ppl in marketing haha

As others have said, it's based on a title for a room used for strategic purposes, and how to "win" in sales.

Frankly, the name gets me pumped up, like cranking some Metallica, and gets me ready to take on the world.

(has anybody told OP that we refer to ourselves as "Savages" yet?)

If marketers started to think and act creatively, without leaning on arbitrary KPIs, the world might be a better place. However, the day that happens is the day that hell freezes over. This is sales, with or without any context of why it's called the war room, you should still be operating like a soldier in the trenches. If you're not, failure is inevitable!
