Best webcam cover for MacBooks?

hi everyone today is my first day at my new job and during the laptop setup training they warned against using webcam covers because they're known to crack the MacBook screens. They said that there hasn't been any issues with magnetic covers yet but I haven't been able to find any fully magnetic covers on Amazon. Has anyone found a cover that's fully magnetic or other types that don't cause problems?

A sticky note that I trimmed down, and then put some scotch tape to overlap the sides to ensure it doesn't go anywhere. Easy to remove when I need to for a meeting.

This works too, shit I used a stamp on my personal computer. Anything that can be removed easily works tbh

Webcam covers?

Not to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but your ever move is already being tracked on your phone. What you trying to hide?

If you want your camera off for a meeting, just turn it off.

At my previous job I once had a team training call and I turned my camera off for a second to take my hoodie off and the manager somehow was able to force my camera back on so now I just get paranoid and like to have the extra security of the cover just in case

If you work with highly confidential stuff, they're usually a requirement. I work with governments regularly, and there are procedures in place when talking about impactful items.

It could all be fixed with a hardware requirement that a light goes on, but that isn't the case, they are flawed by design.

You ever see photos or videos of even the Zucc having tape on his webcam.

It's not about trying to hide anything, it's about getting caught in gotcha moments, out of context quotes, competitive intel, bad actors, foreign interference and at the end of the day money. Insurance isn't going to cover losses unless your business made attempts to not suffer a loss.

Can't wait for the thoughtful answer downvotes.

^^^ Good response.

For what it's worth, Zuckerberg's need for privacy vs salespeople's need for privacy - not the same. But there are different scenarios (like what you mentioned with gov agencies) that I can agree with.

I didn't think about working with gov agencies and some of the nuances to working with highly confidential type businesses.

Not doing too much of this in my day-to-day - but have dealt with companies with all type of security protocols, so makes sense.

Break the camera so you have an excuse to never have to do your hair again. Make up a really a story that sounds really cool so that you have a great way to open up any conversation with a prospect. i.e Someone broke into my house. Closest thing to my bed was my laptop because when customers call I get to work.....hit the robber in the face, shattered my camera and havent had time to get a new computer yet.

Boom now you are a badass that is customer centric and knows how to take care of themselves.
