Can I be happy for not being laid off while some colleagues are still waiting to know if they are laid off or not?

We all have been waiting for 2 months to know if we were affected or not. Now they have inform some of us that we are not affected, and another pool has been notified that in three weeks they will know if they are laid off or not.

I have been going to the office and I have to constraint my joy because I am not being laid off but I want to focus on next months and go back to enjoy my job. I am supporting my colleagues that are affected but I am feeling a little bit guilty for being happy as they are in a hater mode.

What should I do?

homie, you are always aloud to feel joy and be happy. now, if you were like shoving it in everyones face, that would be different.

i do not understand why the company would put ppl on a list and tell them you "might" be laid off. fucking insane.

Are you allowed to happy when you win a lottery ticket next to a person with duds? Yes. Should you scream in joy about the $50k you just won next to desperate people that wish they had that ticket/money themselves? probably not if you don't want to get mugged.

Internalize the happiness, empathize with your coworkers, be willing to hold them on a pedestal for references and resume follow ups, and keep your head down and keep grinding out your job while looking at job opps that don't put you in this situation.

Weird decision making by leadership...

I get there's a process to abide by during layoffs but leaving people hanging is no bueno.

You're allowed to feel at peace with keeping your job!

It’s ok for you to be happy for yourself and compassionate toward your colleagues. Since your company has decided to inexplicably torture some of your colleagues, it will probably be less disruptive for you to work remotely as much as possible so you can stay focused.

It happens, they will make sure to find their way as you did.

Probably even the fate is hiding a better opportunity than yours for them who knows.

As if you couldn't do something about it you shouldn't feel guilty about it!

It's natural to be happy but would DEFINITELY be poor form to gloat at all.

That's not exactly what is happening IMO. The group that will "find out in three weeks" just found out they will be laid off even if they don't realize it.

If I were in that pool, I'd start applying as soon as I got that info. Seeing as this is from the 9th, that's EOQ. They're absolutely gone. Be happy and give advice where you can.

Hello all, new to the group and very happy to be here. To those who have been using the platform... what is your best advice on how to beat use the war room to start networking, contributing, and getting the most out of it. Think back to what you wish someone told you when you first joined. TY!

How do you all handle a situation where a prospect has a contract approved and is ready for signature, but one of their family members just passed away? Want to be extremely sensitive to the situation...feel there's never a "right" time to reach out and never want to be salesy...

I’ve scheduled a vaca with the fam for middle of Sept. in Disney so not sure if that counts as vacation…anyway, do you sales gangsters try to unplug when your OOO or do you still check in? I would like to check out, I think I need it. Just curious.
