Any experiences taking offers, do I contract out, are there specific tax implications?

I've been there but the company handled everything and it was no different than if they had a Canadian HQ.
I feel like this should be their consideration. Just make sure you're getting the right taxes withheld and you get your T4 etc.

Most definitely. Just make sure that they don't try and push too much of the responsibility onto you.
As a Canadian in the USA navigation of visa/status and taxes was the most difficult part. As their first Canadian - make sure they are familiar with the Fed/Provincial holiday schedule and overtime laws.
No one here takes time off... And 40 hour work weeks are a thing... Coming from 37.5 it's not a big deal but culturally we are so different.
