Christmas gifts from your boss?

Have you ever gotten a great or not so great holiday gift from your Boss? Share your show stopper or your nightmare with me. 

I currently have two live lobsters running about thanks to my awesome CEO but I can't possibly kill them so it got me thinking. Y'all have to have some good stories out there.  🦞🤷🏻‍♀️🦞

(This is the best and most thoughtful gift I've ever gotten from a boss and I've been with the company for less than 3 months.)

The only story I have was planning to leave for a new role and was going to put in my notice the Friday before Christmas.

The manager was constantly talking about the gift she got us and was making it seem like it was absolutely amazing. So the team was trying to go all out for her.

The entire time, since I was leaving and was not a fan of her, I was trying to down play what we should give her, but of course someone bought something at Versace without confirming with everyone and sent out Venmo Requests. I had about two weeks before putting in my notice, but didnt want to be an ass by not helping out...but it was $100 from me for a gift to a person I didn't like. I ended up venmo'ing and thought at least I would get something sick.

All we got was a company branded calendar for the next year..This is the only time I went full spoiled brat and was pissed off about a gift I received.

It’s a whole live seafood box but the lobsters are clearly the stars of the show here. 🤣 I wish I had a camera recording my face when I opened it. I’m used to a t-shirt and a 6 pack of rock hard cookies.

While I enjoy lobster, and worked in a seafood restaurant for years, I’d have a hard time dispatching them too. That’s awesome.

Usually just get gift cards or booze.I got a tasting flight of fancy scotch from one of my clients this year. That's my favorite gift so far.

Last year, I got a bunch of Buffy the Vampire Slayer stuff (shirts and a pin) and I thought that was lovely since it showed that they truly *get* me.

You can’t go wrong with gift cards and booze. A thoughtful gift where someone “gets you” or shows they listen really hits you in the feels though!

Two live lobsters I loled, fyi if you don’t put them in water they’ll die anyway. You can freeze them to kill them as well. I got a cheap wine from a boss once and was like guess all that revenue is worth an $8 bottle of wine…
