Cold outbound is dead

Why does cold outreach seem impossible? No one responds anymore, how are we supposed to build pipeline?

I also hate the BS sales gurus say on Linekdin because they sell to only sales and marketing people and some east service vs true value technology.

Anyways how is everyone’s outbound these days? Are you getting replies to set up calls?

*updated edit: is it because what I am selling has no product market fit?

Reevaluate your approach. My team of 5 have already booked 10 meetings today and day's only half over.

There's no silver bullet. Team does research on companies in their territories, finds key personas, puts them in email sequences. Fridays we do a call blitz targeted at the contacts in the sequence.
Get them on the phone, give our value prop, overcome the initial objection, and book something a couple weeks out when we know their calendar probably is not full.

This actually is the silver bullet.

How often are they calling throughout the week or is it more research driven during the week?

Not dead but it has been tough this year as someone that's outbounding in my own role currently. Keep trying and switching things up

It's harder for sure, but no it isn't dead.
What's your methodology?

Definitely not dead. Just have to do it different than others.
And I agree, selling to salespeople is very different.

If you have contacts you've worked with before, start there. Any existing relationships or strong ties within your ICP. So hard to get in cold with people today.

Depends who you know. Not even being shitty. Dig hard through that network.

Exactly! Loose ties count. Know a person who knows a person? See if you can get in that way. You'd be surprised how connected most people are and who you can reach with a little help from the right contact.

Not dead but not easy either. You might be hitting the wrong people.

I think your update nailed it on the head. Either no fit, or you are targeting the wrong persona.

Hola hola. Aight love, it's fine. Now here me out: There's nothing cold that works anymore. Warm would work nowadays. So focus on warming your leads up step by step - first few steps would be a failure for sure.
I get tons of bot calls - how do you expect me to respond to a cold call when I am already irritated at the look of it?

But I would respond to a caller that I have seen a message from beforehand. A personalised message, yes. A linkedIn request, maybe. A linkedin comment / like, yes for sure.

Definitely, this year is hard. But that is what sales is all about. Do the research- pickup the phone

People will always answer the phone, it just comes down to timing most of the time. I found success by emailing them and then calling a few hours a later that way they see my name on the email that they prob dont read and then they see it again on my caller ID

If you were on the receiving end of your outreach (imagine you got 10 emails / phonecalls per day JUST LIKE the ones you are making/sending) would you respond?

Cold outbound isn't dead, but it is done exceedingly poorly by the vast majority.
How well targeted are the prospecting lists you are using?

Either nobody wants your stuff or you're trying to sell your stuff to the wrong people. Both problems are fixable.
