Colleague tried to had my head cut off...

If you've seen my previous posts. You'll know the situation at my company is a war scene.


Yesterday, my manager called me out of nowhere and seemed nervous.


He asked me why my Hubspot showed that I called the same person 40+ times.


I was like WTF!? But quickly remembered a weird message that I'd been getting throughout the day but didn't think much of and decided to ignore.


Long story short, I showed him that it was fucking Hubspot's fault and that I was calling multiple people, not fake calling the same damn prospect hahaha.


He seemed relieved and hopped off right away.


I spoke with him today and he told me that another fucking SDR was the one that found it and brought it up directly to leadership.


My manager was called in by leadership and asked about it. He didn't explicitly say it but insinuated he'd been asked to chop my head off if he found out I was lying.


He also specifically told me who was the SDR that tried to threw me under the damn bus.


I think it was such a fucking bitch move.


I feel that if I'd seen the same thing I would've just continued with my shit cause it ain't my fucking job to be sniffing around other people's shit.


Or, I would have spoken directly with my colleague to even see if I was right or not, and if he/she was my homie I would've just given the person a heads up so they stop doing it.


With the climate we are in, in which they basically just announced that bodies will hit the floor, it was clear that if I had actually been faking numbers I would've been canned immediately.


I've only been here for 3 weeks but I heard that she has been a top performer lately so I'm assuming that she is trying to get a manager role and that she saw this as a chance to showcase herself to the company.


Or it was just a bitch move.


Regardless, I'm fumid and it just annoys me to hear her fucking voice now, it makes my ears bleed.


Am I overreacting and she did the "right" thing? Or was it a real bitch move?

Eh. I'm in a small 2 AE 2 BDR pod, and I'm absolutely routinely auditing what the BDRs are doing and raising discrepancies to my manager to deal with. 

Poor performance hurts me and my small team (making us look shit). It hurts the company (which, being barely $10mm ARR is not acceptable) and hurts that person themselves (making a fraction of what they could and instilling poor habits).

It is okay to audit, but bring it directly to the person, don't bring it to your manager.  If the person tells you to fuck off, request to get on another team, but bringing it to your manager is childish.

Hahaha 100%. However, here it might be a bit different.

Literally one day before she snitched, our VP told the whole sales team to not be shy if they find weird things, to speak up about it and that there was nothing to be scared off as no one would say who snitched. 

However, my Manager did tell me, he seemed pissed off about it too. 

She is another segment so my manager was probably mad cause she tried to fuck with our team.

Sometimes I think it’s best to show how competent you are with your actions and ignore the noise. I find my managers work these things out themselves eventually. “Everything comes out of the woodwork”.

Then you are known as the guy who is a team player and focuses on the business goals which is what they look for in management material. It’ll serve you and your boss better.

I don’t know everything of course, there’s always specific situations where you have to switch it up. But this is the general rule I live by and it serves me well. I’ve been with my company 3 months and my boss has already talked about a promotion.

We can all see the team's numbers in general as far as activities and numbers. 


I just don't know how she was able to see those details, we are also about 30 SDRs total so wondering if she actually checked everyone's numbers.
