I haven't been a fan of them for YEARS.
Honestly, I see no harm. If they're not going to read them, they just aren't. If they are, then a great cover letter can be a benefit.
Ensure your resume covers all the good points and metrics, is clear and concise about accomplishments, and you'll be fine.

Yep. Do it. It won't cost you the gig, unless you can't spell. In which case you wouldn't get the gig anyway. So, its a shortcut.

Itโs pretty easy to find cover letter templates. No harm in including it so only upside.

It adds a bit more weight to your resume, application; that's all. There are still few firms who have Cover Letters as a must-have. Either way, no harm putting it up there.

Not really, but if you want to have chatgpt right something or have a generic template. but not sure if it really helps you stand out since who reads them if they dont really read resumes
