This deal took 2 years and 3 RFPs that I protested each time. After we were FINALLY awarded the contract we took them on a tour of a local warehouse to show them how their products were picked, packed, and delivered. We also invited them to interview minority companies that we could partner with to hit their diversity goal. We were able to cultivate a close relationship by doing so, and were even commended for inclusion. This was one of my hardest government closes, yet very fulfilling.
