CV help!!

Hey savages, I have spent time sifting through posts already, but I need to check something specific.

I have about 10 jobs in the past 10 years, all sales roles... Some manager some selling etc..

I have always been against bending the truth on my CV, but after many years of nagging to try it out, I think I am going to try...

The questions is this:

If I have 10 jobs, and I want to reduce it to 5, the only way I can see it working is to change the dates at 5 of the companys, to basically make it look like I am not a job hopper (Which I am not, I just been screwed over in every single role, hence my last rant post so please dont judge. I walked out of every single gig due to being fed a pack of lies etc.)

The problem is, if I do this, I dont think I can go back, and I will be looking for scaleups rather than startups and I think scaleups will be tighter on referencing.

What do you think? Should I risk this shit?

I feel you on that, I've had more gigs than I'd prefer and so much was out of my control. The amount of companies I've worked for that no longer exist is wild, but nothing I could impact.

Massaging your resume is a pretty standard practice, BUT it can backfire. And what you're talking about is more akin to an orthopedic surgeon than chiropractor or massage therapist.

The likelihood of things backfiring increases significantly depending on the magnitude of the changes you made. A lot of companies check references, and verify dates. My company has some specific security certifications that required a pretty in-depth background check. If I didn't pass that, then there would have been no new gig.

Tread cautiously and don't approach too heavy handedly.

I mean I would put AE roles under one section and manager roles under one section and just have a story ready.
