I’m working with a few organizations allowing me and my data scientist to evaluate behavior data to find out how to align it with financial data and thus creating exactly that!

The impact is significant at all companies I speak to. Clear loss in internal GTM especially between sales / CS and product development.

Externally it is about brand recognition and marketing vs sales mostly.

I understand the sales people here are less interested in trying to improve internal communication and dynamics to improve output.

Toxic, I don’t have any other way to describe it.

Stop asking SDRs and AEs questions about misalignment. There are probably few CTOs/CEOs/CFOs that can do this because you’d need to track how many deals you’ve lost, renewals missed, upsells passed , etc in the CRM under lost reasons. How many orgs are even doing that?

Is this problem you’re trying to solve a) painful b) quantifiable c) worth paying to fix?

If your engineering ideas/priorities aren't coming from existing clients or prospects then you are not aligned with sales. I've been with orgz where engineers and/or devs think they know the market, but not even sales knows the market like the targeted users themselves.
