For Q3 this year, this deal was my saving grace! Their COO and I had originally connected last November, but our timing was off for their priorities. I said "no problem, let's chat in the new year." and wouldn't you know it we actually did.
This deal overall took about 7 actual months of work, on and off. They had a few C-level changes in spring and summer but thank God my champion and my COO contacts stayed the same.
The rough part that I'd caution you all to look out for is when we got through the first few steps in evaluating my product for their IT and Ops teams back in Spring, but then the president came in and said "what if we get a consultant in the mix"?
This set us back to step one and added 5 months to this project overall. It was a big pain but all in all let me and my team deeply prove that we are the best choice for their goals and challenges.
Finally we got board approval and CFO signature last week! I'm ecstatic and this will be one of my largest commission checks yet!!
