Exciting New Opportunities on the Horizon

Hello, esteemed sales professionals,

I'm currently serving as a Regional Sales Executive at a dynamic staffing and recruiting firm where I'm privileged to lead an incredible team. It has recently come to my attention that an exciting opportunity has been posted on LinkedIn just a couple of days ago, which curiously aligns with my current role.

Simultaneously, there has been mention of the termination of a Regional Sales Specialist, a vital team member under my wing, without any prior notification to me. This surprising development has sparked a number of thoughts on how to tackle the situation and strategize moving forward.

I'm reaching out to this incredible community for insights, advice, and strategies that could guide me in handling such a scenario. How would you approach this, given the element of surprise and a certain lack of transparency?

Thank you for your valued input and wisdom. Looking forward to learning from your experiences.

Are you saying you've noticed an opportunity and you're considering applying for it because one of your people got shot without a warning?

I'd call this a normal reaction.

Apply for the new gig. While that process running keep your head down. You get an offer from the new one, you can ask for all of the clarity you need from the current org. If they stay sketchy, you've got a decision to make and a new home to go to.

We’re you been informed about such termination in the past or this is the first time? Looks like you have anyways decided to apply it so I would approach it like a normal job hunt but I would clarify, as oldcloser mentioned, with the company if I decide to stick around for mental peace

ALWAYS throw your hat in the ring for a good opportunity. ALWAYS. It never hurts to see what happens with it and the best time to find a job is when you currently have one.

Did it tell the name of the company according to the announced post!
If it was the same, so it has to do with the same role at your company,if not, so I believe it would be just a coincidence no more.

It isn't worth worrying about and keeping yourself worried about it so you have 2 options. In order of what I would do

1.) Approach leadership, lead with the fact that you are aware of the times we are in and noticed there's a precarious job opening for the role you currently work in and are a little worried.

2.) Ignore it and keep on doing your thing slinging Recs and staffing because worrying about your role will be detrimental.

First off always good to keep your head on a swivel to see what is out there to advance your career. I read someplace a while back that it is always good to check your worth every two years. As others have mentioned, throw your hat in the ring and see what happens.
