Feedback on idea? Chrome ext for modifying webpages

video cover

I've been an AE at 5 sales orgs, decided to try an launch my own thing after getting laid off last November. Here's one of the ideas I had, and I'd love to see how much interest there is

Here's the pitch:

SalesSorcery (chrome extension) -

Modify any webpage for software sales demos

Features:

1. Double-click any text or image to edit

2. Cover up or blur parts of pages

3. Changes are saved for next time you visit the page

Use cases:

1. Personalizing demo for company (their logo, etc)

2. Show ideal scenario or data

3. Cover up PII, private data, or irrelevant parts

Is this something you'd use?

I'd say usable but I would look at selling this at the org level and not have salespeople thinking about paying out of pocket for a great feature. May also want to build and look at another provider to see if they'd buy your idea out and implement into their system. I would love blur areas for team's screen sharing and I think a direct integration into the top virtual call programs would be a good way to monetize this.

thank you for your feedback!!
I could see selling to the org level working better, maybe like $100/mo for the whole company to have access or something like that.

and that's a good idea. When you say virtual call programs, are you referring to Zoom/Webex/Teams or are you talking about something else?

Don't be afraid to do it per user after a certain number of users but yeah getting payment from org vs. individuals may be easier and then the org would push use and buy in for the purchase to their salespeople/users.

Exactly the ones you mentioned and maybe even other "streaming" connections like discord or twitch where you want more than just limited to a program window (v a whole monitor to share) but still need to hide some materials.

You were good until you put a link in to sign up for a waitlist.

Cool idea, though.

I only said no because I don't pay for anything that enables a company for which I work to make money from my efforts. They should pay.

Which means Filth is right on the money - aim for the org.

thank you! and that makes total sense.

Is this something you'd see your management paying for? I know that's a question that doesn't necessarily mean much cause there's no way to know without trying to sell it to them.. but just curious how hard of a sell you think it would be

No, not in our case, because we don't sell a solution that would be showcased by modifying a web page.

This is not to say it doesn't have value overall - just not to the company for which I work.

Slick, but I'm not buying. Company pays, I'd use it. Nice work!

i think there are many companies that could use this. Any industry that is focused on something that is external facing i could see this helping.

Props to you for trusting and believing in yourself.

Looks nifty and could certainly benefit organizations. Agree with Filth.

I’m sure you have a business case for it, but it wouldn’t apply to my world.
