First Interview-15 minutes

I have a first interview tomorrow and it’s only 15 minutes. This seems to be a trend. If you’ve had this experience, what did the interview cover in such a short time frame? TIA

Is this with Hr? They might be just trying confirm the logistics and make sure pay/role is aligned and tell you more about the role

It is HR, so that makes sense. I’ve had 2 other 15 minute interviews set. Never got to the table as they made an offer. Thanks!

Never had this experience, not sure how a 15 minute interview is effective for either person.

The thing that people don't think about is that these 15 minute screens are hidden behind a 30 minute screen. Recruiter screens will be scheduled for 30 minutes and collect all the info they need in 15 minutes. They will then go on for about 10 minutes explaining how the founders came up with the idea of the company and how much funding they have received. Then leave with 5 minutes to spare. I wouldn't think anything of a 15 minute screen.

And it's not a phone screen? They must not ask many questions...

I'm assuming it should be with HR, @DenverB2B. They might wanna check your communication skills / basic connect / double-confirm your work-ex / make an attempt to understand your sales acumen.

It might be coming from a Sales hiring manager who has gotten some shitty candidates in the recent past. And using this interview as a filtering mechanism.

Sounds like a HR screening - its not an interview per se. Its a screening to make sure you're not a flake.

these are the easiest to nail dont worry. this person will have a FEW questions to qualify you. A few tips:

- have positive energy and be engaging
- be able to answer the "tell me about your self" question
- also they will most likely ask "why do you want to work for _____"
- and they may ask about your work history, so make sure you PRACTICE your story and make it short.
- also, have a few questions for them about the hiring process, and let them know that you have more questions that may be better answered by the sales leader/manager

let me know if you want to figure out the best answers for you

This is awesome, thanks. IMO onto the second round, which will most likely follow this format. Thanks!

Had this recently, it’ll be a quick high level screener of your experience and why you’re interested in the role

Thanks for the responses. This was a phone screen and I seem to ring all the bells and I’m on to round 2 (which is technically round 1 if you ask me). You guys ROCK!

I would need to understand the entire process before I entered into that game. If we are not going to seriously get to know each other and explore if we are a fit for each other, let's just jump on a phone call or zoom. Seems very shallow.
